It is with an insanely happy heart that I must tell you that I will not be working on miniatures for a while, because I will be busy changing diapers. Jo and I have a son.
We got a call one day at 1:30 in the afternoon saying there was a healthy baby boy waiting to come home with us. At 3:30 pm, we were holding him in our arms. We named him Vigo.
We got him when he was 16 and a half hours old. He is perfect and I am still in amazement at just how much I love him.
I thank you all for your incredible support and best wished through the years. It was a long and heartbreaking 7 year wait, In fact we were absolutely convinced the day would never come, but it did. I will keep on following your wonderful blogs to keep on being inspired, but I hope you understand if I will not be commenting much...at least for a while.

Wow Giac. Congratulations. This is amazing news! It must have been a bit of a shock - after 7 years you get the phone call and have a baby 2 hours later!! So so happy for you both! Xx

It won't be long though before you will be making more miniatures and they will be toys for you new son. After all every prince needs a toy castle!

Hello Giac such a wonderfull gift you and Jo have become. Children are a Blessing and no matter how old your son will be, you will always think of him as your baby child. I know becaus my son becomes 50 this year and he is still my baby (although he would never agree haha).

Hello, Giac - I just read your blog post, and I'm being tearfully happy for you and Jo. Vigo is a beautiful baby, and such a fortunate one to have the loving parents that I know you and Jo will be. It has been a long wait, and I've thought of you both so often, hoping for you to hear the happy news. And it finally happened! As a mother three times, a grandmother four times and a great-grandmother twice, I can assure you that nurturing a child is the most wonderful and joyful experience there can be - and I'm so very happy that you now get to experience this great joy firsthand. Enjoy all the moments - even the diaper ones!

At long last, so I wasn't too far out in my expectations after all Giac, I bet you and Jo are over the moon. :) Vigo is such a precious little cutie pie and most definitely worth the long wait.
